We are delighted to announce that Rea, our office administrator, is a finalist in the 2010 Newark Business Awards in the category of Employee of the Year.
What you probably don’t know about Rea is that she originally trained as a nursery nurse and joined Optima in 2007 when she was looking for a change of career. Since then Rea has accumulated an impressive list of qualifications including an NVQ Level 3 in office administration and the AAT Foundation Level accountancy qualification. She is now working towards the AAT Diploma.
Rea has a willingness to develop and apply her new skills which is essential in a small business where team members tend to wear several hats. During a difficult time she is willing to take on new challenges and support the business in whatever way she can. She maintains a positive outlook and helps us to explore how we can build for the future.
The reason we put Rea forward for this award is best summed up by Jo Lyons, our lead Spanish trainer who says, ‘Rea is so supportive ...nothing is too much trouble for her. She is a very calming influence when I’m getting ready for a course or sorting out resources. She’s a star.’
