Look up there! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s the Business Language Champions… championing language throughout the land!
Did you know that Jo Small, our Education Director, is one of the Business Language Champions? It doesn’t actually mean that she is a superhero or that she wears a cape (shame) but she does go into schools on a regular basis to inspire pupils and promote the use of language.
On the 1st June she will be off to Bourne Grammar School in Lincolnshire with her other Business Language Champion colleagues, to enthuse the students there about learning German. Joining Jo in this super effort will be Brigitte Peach from Languages for Life; and Suzannah Hutton and Sally Fagan from Business Language Champions.
The student s will have already chosen to do German next year so the main aim of the session is to demonstrate to them what an excellent choice they have made by showing them how the language can be used and the opportunities that having German as a second language will open up for them.
The Champions will be delivering four workshops during the day, including Jo’s exciting journey into the world of German food and drink. We don’t want to give too much away for the students but we can reveal that there will be tasting involved (although no wine I am afraid) and the opportunity to make some German puddings and drinks. It’s very hands on!
